The Client operates an exceptional network of treatment and therapy programs across the United States. They specialize in preteens, teens, and young adults, struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental health and substance use issues. With approximately 38 facilities across the US the Client provides outpatient counseling services, short-term residential facilities, boarding school, and wilderness therapy camps.
The project is part of a national expansion of counseling centers and the Client’s second facility in Metro Atlanta. The Client’s vision is to become the most respected, recognized, and valuable family behavioral health care company in the world and they needed a strong design partner to lead the process and develop and implement the strategies to achieve this goal.
The Client’s core purpose is to to create joy and heal generations. With a client base serving youths, focused on preteens, teens, and young adults it was important that the clinic space feel like a place where they can feel at ease and enjoy the time spent there with their counselors and their families. Too often mental health facilities can feel sterile and impersonal and do not provide the peaceful and easy-going atmosphere that helps a patient to speak freely and feel confident and comfortable. It was important that the design support the Client’s aspiration of providing a safe and attractive space that appeals to the senses of young patients.
